My father, “Doc” Poje, was a WWII Veteran who served in the Pacific Theatre. After Military Service he was a conferred a PHD in Chemistry from the University of Kansas. From there he taught Chemistry at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, MI, from 1950 to 1986.
There are many of Doc’s students who credit him with being a positive influence on their lives. After Doc’s passing a scholarship was established at Aquinas College in his name. From the Aquinas College website:
This scholarship is awarded to a full-time Aquinas College student in his or her junior or senior year with a declared major in chemistry and a minimum GPA of 3.0. Recipients are selected by the Chair of the Chemistry Department in consultation with the Director of Financial Aid.
Donations to the Scholarship are always welcomed. Below is the link to the Aquinas College website page for making a contribution.
